FOD is a persistent degrader to military and civil aviation readiness. Traditional methods of managing FOD are insufficient to address the growing vulnerability to jet engines. The US Navy has developed a risk based solution to FOD that will reduce engine rejections by 75%, and can be used by the entire aviation community.
