Our top tips for exhibitors at Farnborough International Airshow: how to get the most out of your show

We want all exhibitors to get the most from their presence at the show. Our dedicated account managers are on hand to assist you throughout your participation and will work with you to ensure an unforgettable experience.

Whether it’s your first time at Farnborough, or if you’ve been coming to the show for years, you have made a considerable investment and will want to maximise the return on this.

We’ve set out our ‘Top Five Tips’ for exhibitors coming to the Airshow:

  1. Clear Objectives

It sounds obvious but it’s too easy to forget the ultimate purpose for attending the show. Take time well in advance to set out your goals and create a plan that will enable you to deliver them. Whether it’s a sales target or brand awareness, have clear objectives in mind and plan your schedule for the show around these.

  1. Preparation is Key

Ensure every detail of your participation is thoroughly planned. From marketing and stand designs, to accommodation and travel, it’s best to have this considered well in advance. Suppliers can get incredibly busy in the run up to a show, last-minute work and the need for fast turnarounds could impact budget. If you can, attend the Exhibitors Briefing (date soon to be announced). This will enable you to familiarise yourself with the site, understand the official contractors and get an early insight into plans for the show.

  1. Promotion

Telling people you’re exhibiting at the Farnborough International Airshow is a great promotional opportunity. Communicate this as much as possible in the run up to the show, as well as during the show week. Make sure you’re following the event on social media networks using the event hashtag #FIA20 to promote your presence at the show and stand location. Organise all collateral and consider any enhanced opportunities to promote your presence.

  1. Network, Network, Network

Get yourself out there! Attend conferences, arrange meetings, participate in or host an event at your stand. Farnborough International Airshow has an established timetable of networking events including the Meet the Buyer and the Opening Ceremony.

  1. Follow-Up

Make sure you follow up with everyone you meet during the show. Even the smallest interactions have the potential to open doors and start new business relationships, so don’t miss the window of opportunity.
