What are the dates of the Farnborough International Airshow 2018?

What time do the gates open?

The gates open at 09:00 each morning.

When do tickets go on sale?

All tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday 17th November 2017 - click here to purchase yours now.

What toilet facilities are on site?

There are plenty of toilet facilities on site. There is also an accessible toilet, baby changing facilities and drinking water in each toilet block. 

Can I take photos/film the event?

The use of photographic equipment is allowed for private domestic purposes only. All other recording and any transmission is prohibited. As a condition of entry to the Airshow you assign to the Organisers (by way of a present assignment of future copyright) the copyright in any photographs or recordings you make at the Airshow. PLEASE NOTE: The Organisers take photographs and video recordings of attendees during the Airshow and may use these for marketing purposes.

Can I bring and fly my own drone (UAS) to take photographs or film at the show?

No, due to the nature of the event, the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or drones for filming or photography is prohibited onsite.

Is there free WiFi at the Public Airshow?

There will be select areas of the show that offer complimentary WiFi - these will be clearly sign posted.

Will the show go ahead if it rains?

Yes, the show will go ahead regardless of the weather. If it does rain, the flying display will still take place however the organisers reserve the right to cancel or amend any part of the flying display due to adverse weather conditions.

Are there any covered areas for protection from the sun or the rain?

Due to the nature of the event we cannot erect structures specifically as weather protection. However, there are indoor areas such as Hall 1 and the Innovation Zone in Hall 3 that can offer a break from the weather if needed.

Where can I purchase tickets for the Airshow?

To purchase tickets please go to our website www.farnboroughairshow.com/public  and click on the red “Book Tickets” button or call See Tickets on 0844 2091746 (calls cost 7p per minute plus network extras).   Tickets can also be purchased at FAST Museum (Farnborough Air Sciences Trust – for opening times see website: http://www.airsciences.org.uk/ )

NB:  See Tickets is the official ticket provider to the Farnborough International Airshow.  If you are considering purchasing tickets via a ticket re-selling site such as Viagogo or Stub Hub, please note that you may pay more than the face value of the ticket and will not be able to access other ticketing options such as free disabled carer tickets, ticket upgrades, group booking discounts or priority parking.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Tickets are available purchase on the day, however it is cheaper to book them in advance.  Tickets with limited availability (e.g. FAB Friday Tickets) may have sold out and not be available on the day.

Is there a whole weekend ticket?

Yes, a limited amount of Weekend Passes which permits entry on both Saturday and Sunday are available. Please note that Weekend Passes are non-transferable and a wristband will be issued to the ticket holder on arrival.

Can I visit the show during the week?

From Monday – Thursday, Farnborough International Airshow is strictly a trade event and as such is open to trade aerospace professionals only.  However, there is an option to purchase a FAB Friday pass for Friday 20th July 2018, which will allow entry to the show to experience the exhibition halls prior to their partial closure at the weekend

Do you offer reserved seating?

There is no reserved seating, however you can upgrade your ticket to the Runway Enclosure package to ensure a guaranteed, unallocated seat.

Can I still buy a Grandstand only ticket?

The Runway Enclosure package gives you access to the grandstand or deckchair seating within a private enclosure.  Please note that this seating is unallocated and is on a first come first served basis. There will be enough seating for all ticket holders but you will not be able to “hold” your seat should you decide to leave the Runway Enclosure to take a look around the show and any property left unattended will be removed

Do I have to buy a Runway Enclosure Ticket for my baby?

No. Children aged 2 and under will not require a ticket to enter the Runway Enclosure.  It is expected that a child of this age would sit on your lap and not take up a seat.

Can I change my ticket?

As per our regulations we operate a strict no exchange or refund policy.

I ordered my ticket ages ago and they still haven’t come through, when will I receive them?

Is there a Group Booking discount and how do I book Tickets?

Yes, there is a group booking discount of 5% on booking of 10 or more when purchasing advance tickets.  The Group Booking discount does not apply to On the Day Tickets.  If you would like to make a group booking, please call the SEE GROUPS Hotline on 0844 4124650 (calls cost 7p per minute plus network extras) or email: [email protected] 

Are there any concessions?

Yes, Farnborough International Airshow is pleased to offer a £5 discount off the standard ticket price to those aged 65 and over. Furthermore, those aged 15 and under can enjoy free entry with a full paying adult.

Are there concessions for disabled visitors?

There are no concessions for disabled visitors under the age of 65.  However, we do offer one free carer ticket with every standard ticket purchased for disabled visitors.  To register for this offer, please call the See Tickets Hotline on 0844 2091746 (calls cost 7p per minute plus network extras). or email [email protected]  You will be required to provide documentation to support your request. 

Is there disabled parking available?

Yes. There is a disabled car park on the show site which is free of charge. If you display your blue badge in your car as you approach Farnborough you will be directed by signage and Traffic Marshals to the disabled car park. Spaces are on a first come first served basis and should all the spaces have gone you will be directed to one of the outer car parks. All our car parks are serviced by accessible shuttle buses which will bring you on site. 

My child is disabled and requires a carer. Can I have a free carer ticket without purchasing a ticket?

Children aged 15 and under can enter the show free of charge. Disabled carer tickets are only available in conjunction with purchasing a standard ticket. Should you wish to qualify for a carer ticket, you would need to purchase a ticket.

My details have changed since I booked my tickets, what do I do?

You can update your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address. To request a new confirmation email by contacting SEE Tickets at [email protected] or call 0844 2091746 (calls cost 7p per minute plus network extras).

I would like to book Priority Parking

You can purchase Priority Parking when booking your tickets via our website or alternatively please contact SEE Tickets directly at [email protected] or call 0844 2091746 (calls cost 7p per minute plus network extras).

A limited number (400 per day) of spaces are available at £16 per car on both Saturday and Sunday. The parking spaces will be very close to the site with easy access to the site on foot. Spaces will be sold on a first come first served basis and visitors will be sent their labels, by post, at least two weeks before the event. N.B. All parking labels will be issued by post even if you have purchased a “print at home” ticket.

Is there free parking available?

There is free parking available – details of which are on the website.  The car park you are directed to will be based on the direction from which you have travelled.  There will be AA signs and traffic marshals directing traffic to the appropriate car parks.  All our car parks are serviced by accessible Shuttle Buses which will take you to the show site.  Although there are some car parks from where it is possible to walk to the site.

Are the tickets more expensive than last year

Our tickets have increased by £2 on 2016 prices which is under the rate of inflation.

But you haven’t announced any planes yet – why would I want to buy a ticket?

As one of the world’s leading Airshows we always attract exciting participants. We will announce these acts as and when we can via our website and on social media.

Why are you charging me 50p to print off my own tickets?

Our ticketing is handled by our ticketing partner SEE tickets and is part of their standard terms and conditions for events of this kind to cover the processing of the ticket. It is a transaction fee that you will only pay once per transaction and NOT per ticket.

I booked Flightline (Corporate Hospitality) in 2016 and would like to book again for 2018.

Sadly due to space restriction and commercial considerations, Flightline will no longer be available at the 2018 airshow.  We understand this is disappointing for those that experienced Flightline last show and we are investigating other options to provide an alternative hospitality offering. If a new hospitality offering is provided, we will e-mail all our visitors who have already booked tickets, to let them know, and provide them an opportunity to upgrade before it goes on sale to a wider audience.  In the meantime, we will continue to provide our runway packages that will ensure you get the best seats in the house.

I attended in 2016 and my ticket stated that I could attend on either day. Why do I have to specify the day I wish to attend for 2018?

Due to recent changes in Air Display Regulations we have a slightly reduced site capacity.  By making our tickets day specific we are able to anticipate how many people are planning to attend on each day and therefore ensure we do not exceed our site capacity. 

Do ADS Member companies receive any discount on public day tickets?

Yes. We are offering the following discount to ADS Member companies.  The discount is only available on Advance Tickets prices at £42 each.

10% off up to 200 tickets @ £42

15% off between 201 and 500 @ £42

20% off over 501 @ £42

What aircraft will be at the Farnborough International Airshow 2018?

Details of participating aircraft will be announced on our website.  Please keep a look out as we will be continually updating this.

Is the show the same on both days?

The format of the show is the same on both days. The aircraft display may vary slightly on each day and all aircraft are subject to change.

What time does the flying display start and end?

The flying display starts at approximately 12.30hrs and runs for about 5 ½ hours

How do I get a flying display schedule?

A daily schedule will be available on site on the day as well as via the website.

Will the Red Arrows be displaying at Farnborough in 2018

Due to changes in CAA and MAA regulations after the Shoreham incident in 2015, the RAF took the decision to cease the Red Arrows from carrying out their full aerobatic display at Farnborough. However, we are working with the RAF and the Red Arrows regarding their participation in 2018. Like in 2016, we hope to see a number of flypasts and plenty of on-ground public engagement. The RAF will confirm its calendar of aircraft participation for the 2018 display season in the spring.

We are now in the full throes of organising the exciting 2018 show. Centred around the theme of ‘Pioneers Of The Sky’ there will be loads of flying action, including a brand new headline display act and as always, a great mix of commercial and military aircraft in the air and on the ground to delight everyone

Are there any other attractions at Farnborough International Airshow aside from the flying display?

There will be a multitude of attractions suitable for all visitors throughout the site during the Public Airshow. This will include a Space Zone, Innovation Zone, retail shopping, have-a-go activities, a family area, active simulators as well as food and drink outlets. What type of food & drink can I buy on site?

There will be a number of catering facilities located across the show ground. There is also a cafe located in Hall 1 located near Gate B. Alternatively, you can also pre-order a luxury picnic hamper which can be collected onsite. 

Can I bring my own food & drink?

Visitors are permitted to bring their own picnics. Don't forget we offer a 'click and collect' luxury picnic hamper service which you can pre-order and collect to enjoy on the day.

Will there be Halal meat available? 

There will be at least one outlet selling products using Halal meat. Alternatively, visitors have the option to bring your own picnic.  

Is there drinking water available onsite?

Free drinking water outlets can be found throughout the site.

Please note:
Visitors are unable to bring knives or other sharp implements (i.e. corkscrews) into the show site.

Which charities does the airshow support?

For 2018 our preferred charities are The FAST Museum and RAF100. For more information, please access the FAST Museum website here and the RAF100 website here

Are the any discounts for charities wishing to exhibit?

Due to large amount of requests we have received from a wide variety of charitable organisations, we have taken the decision to focus our main charitable efforts on the official Airshow’s charities (RAF100 and FAST Museum Farnborough).

We always welcome other charities as well, however we cannot offer any discounts.

I’ve heard about this offer but no longer have the email address I used in 2016.

Please advise us of the email address you used in 2016 together with your address details and we will arrange for our records to be amended so you can apply for this offer.

Can I still apply for a Disabled Carer Ticket under this offer?

Yes, Disabled Carer tickets are available in conjunction with this offer and you should apply for this in the usual way.

I’ve received notification of your Loyalty Campaign but I attended on FAB Friday in 2016 and FAB Friday tickets do not seem to be available under the Loyalty Offer?

Our return visitor offer is only valid for the Saturday and Sunday which are the official public days.  Friday remains a trade day and whilst we offer a number of tickets to the general public these are limited and therefore we are unable to include this in the Loyalty Offer. For 2018, FAB Friday tickets are available and will be going on sale on Friday 17th November. 

I would like to purchase more than 4 tickets.

You are able to purchase a maximum of 4 tickets under the Loyalty Offer. If you could like to purchase more tickets, please go to our website and click the “Book Tickets” button to purchase further tickets.  These will need to be purchased at the standard price.

Can I bring my dog to the airshow?

No, with the exception of guide dogs and assistance dogs, dogs (or any pets) are not permitted on the showground. 

Are there baby changing facilities?

Yes, a number of changing facilities are available around the site. The location map will indicate where these areas are.

Is there an Official Souvenir Programme?

The Public Airshow Official Programme includes important show information and is the perfect souvenir and you can see a preview of the contents here. You can pre-order via SEE tickets or alternatively they will also be on sale at selected kiosks throughout the show ground. To pre-order click here. Check map for locations. Price of the programme is £5. If you have pre-ordered your Official Programme, then please collect from any of the Official Programme kiosks.

Can I smoke at the airshow?

Yes, however, smoking is not permitted in any of the hall, chalets, restaurants or in close proximity to aircraft.

Is there a pharmacy on site?

No, however, there is a medical centre and a shop that sells paracetamol and simple first aid items.

What do I do if I hurt myself whilst at the show?

In the event of injury or illness, locate the Medical Centre (detailed on Show Map) or contact any of the Organisers, Security Staff or Farnborough Flyers who will arrange assistance.

What should I do if I become separated from my child?

Any lost children will be taken to the Local Children Facility which is co-located within the on-site medical centre. If a child is lost, then the adult should report to the medical centre, organiser’s office or locate any of the show organisers/police/Farnborough Flyers at the show. Tip: All children will be provided with a wristband and it is highly recommended you place your name and mobile number on the wristband provided when you enter the show. Additional wristbands are available from our Farnborough Flyers or at any of the information kiosks.

What happens in the event of extreme weather? Will the show still go ahead?

The flying display will take place if it is raining, however, the organisers retain the right to cancel any part of the flying display due to adverse weather conditions.

Are there cloakrooms on site?

No, for security reasons there are no facilities for left luggage or cloakrooms at the show. Please keep your belongings with you at all times.

Will there be a prayer room onsite?

Yes, there will be a multi-faith prayer room onsite and this will be identified on our site plan

Airshow Safety.

 Safety governs every aspect of the Farnborough International Airshow. It is the exemplar of air display safety, setting the bench mark for all other UK Airshows and indeed the world. Since the tragic accident at Shoreham in 2015, Farnborough has worked closely with the CAA to fully adopt all the required changes from the CAA review of UK display regulations.
In addition, Farnborough has long imposed its own set of unique regulations, which go above and beyond those of the CAA. These include mandatory validation for all participating pilots and aircraft before they can display to the public and the “Farnborough Bowl” rule, which requires that pilots are only permitted to fly to their minimum display heights while within the airfield boundary which restricts aircraft manoeuvres. Finally, all flights are also monitored by an electro-optical tracking system; a unique safety procedure that flags if any pilot’s display deviates from that approved during validation.

Can I redeem my Local Resident’s Two-for-One Ticket Offer at the FAST Museum?

No, unfortunately not. The Local Resident’s Offer is only available via the website.

I attended the 2016 show using the Two-For-One Ticket Offer.  Why am I not entitled to apply for the Loyalty Ticket Offer as well?

Unfortunately you are not able to use this offer in conjunction with the Local Resident’s Two-For-One Ticket Offer. The Local Residents’ Two-For-One offer is actually better value equating to £21 per ticket whereas the Loyalty Ticket is £30.

I live in North Camp and in the past we have received two free tickets.  Why can’t I have these tickets?

In the past FIL has provided two complimentary tickets to households in the North Camp area of Farnborough who are affected by the Traffic Management Plan put in place during the show.  Following feedback at the 2012 show it was felt that the airshow has a wider effect on the town than just the traffic and therefore it was agreed that any local resident’s offer should encompass and support the Farnborough residential community as a whole.  We have offered Two-For-One Tickets since the 2014 show and it has proved to be extremely popular.

Why can’t you offer free tickets to all the Farnborough community?

Unfortunately it is not financially viable to offer free tickets to all 23,500 or so households in Farnborough.

I am disabled – if I take up the Two-For-One Ticket Offer, can I still get a Disabled Carer Ticket?

Yes.  You are still entitled to claim for a disabled carer ticket.  The Two-For-One Ticket Offer is over and above what you would be entitled to when purchasing a standard ticket.

Will Residents be offered any other compensation for the traffic congestion in the area?

No, we feel the Two-For-One Ticket Offer is fair to all Farnborough residents.   We are very much aware of the impact the show has on the local area and will make every effort to keep you informed and updated about the show.

I don’t live in Farnborough but I am still affected by the airshow and believe I should be included in this offer.

The Two-For-One Ticket offer is only open to Farnborough Residents.  Whilst we would very much like to be able to offer complimentary tickets to the wider community, as I am sure you can appreciate, we have to draw the line somewhere.  Therefore, unfortunately, you will need to purchase a ticket in the normal way should you wish to attend the show.  However, this will be looked at again when we consider our plans for the 2020 show.

I live on my own and only need one ticket – why can’t I just have a free ticket?

Free tickets are only available through this offer and therefore you will need to purchase a ticket.  However, you would be able to have one ticket dated for Saturday and the other for Sunday and therefore you could attend the show on both days.

There are more than two people in my household.

The Two-For-One Ticket Offer is limited to one offer per household.  However, additional full price tickets can be purchased via www.farnboroughairshow.com or call 0844 2091746 (calls cost 7p per minute plus network extras).

What about my children?

Children aged 15 and under are admitted to the show free of charge as long as they are accompanied by a ticket-bearing adult.

I’ve just moved into my house but don’t have a letter.

Please let us know by using the “Contact Us” button on the website or call our offices on 01252 532800.  However, if tickets have already been allocated to your address we will not be able to issue any further Local Resident’s offer tickets and would suggest you follow this up with the previous occupier.

Why are these offer tickets date specific?

All tickets for the show are date specific.  This is valuable research when planning future shows and also helps us monitor site capacities.

I am affected by the airshow and believe I should be offered compensation for the traffic congestion/additional aircraft noise:

We apologise for any adverse issues the airshow causes you.  We are continually updating our website with as much information as possible in relation to traffic management, Validation Week and Flying Displays in order to help you go about your daily business as normally as possible.  We will also publish this information via our social media channels.  However, we will not be offering any form of compensation. 

I live in the Queensgate Housing Development and in the past I have had vehicle labels in order to gain access to my home.

We will be contacting all residents of the Queensgate Housing Development separately to advise you on the process for the 2018 show. It is likely to follow a similar process to previous years.  We will be making contact with you approximately 2 months before the show with all the information you will need.  However, if you have any questions, please email: [email protected]
