Airline Strategy Awards
Last night saw the Flight Airline Business, Airline Strategy Awards which reward individuals and airlines that have exhibited clear strategic vision in the last year. They recognise the crucial role that management talent plays in shaping the success of the industry.
Farnborough International was a proud sponsor of the event and presented the award for Network Strategy which recognised the management team that has demonstrated leadership in the design, development, implementation, and refinement of leading-edge concepts, methodologies, or systems in the area of network planning and revenue management in an airline context.
This year the award was presented to Easyjet who’s strategy to become the leading transport network across Europe made them clear winners.
Oliver Clark from Flight Airline Business writes “By building network density, increasing frequencies and consolidating its operations at key primary airports, the carrier has established itself as a leading European point-to-point operator.”
It is not by coincidence that the 2018 edition of the Airline Strategy Awards will take place on Sunday 15th July – the day before the Farnborough International Airshow. The airline industry is the lifeblood of the commercial aerospace industry and the two go hand-in-hand. From tier one manufacturers to aircraft interiors and MRO, the show looks to facilitate business for the Airline industry.
For the 2018 show, we are taking this one step further and developing a unique delegations programme where we will be inviting key individuals from the Airline industry to attend the show as a guest of Farnborough International and participate in a coordinated programme of fully escorted meetings with our exhibitors. Additionally, we are aiming to make the airline industry agenda a focus of show through a dedicated conference programme - watch this space for further information.
The Farnborough International Airshow has also just won an award for Best Large Scale Event or Congress at the Conference Awards held earlier this month. We are delighted to receive this recognition from our industry peers.
The judges commented “A very interesting entry - with a lot of stats and good evidence of return on investment with rising exhibitor sales and sign ups for the next show, plenty of examples of why this event should win”.
We are aiming for this to be the first of many as we strive to improve and facilitate interactions and opportunities for our clients around the world.
