Farnborough Sets Sites on Future with New Initiatives
New features, a new facility, new exhibitors and new sponsors are the order of the day at the forthcoming Farnborough International Airshow. Organisers, Farnborough International have confirmed that interest in the show is at unprecedented levels with exhibition and chalet space more than 90% space sold or reserved with over 20% from new exhibitors including Boom Supersonic, MOOG, GE Additive, Garmin and Turkish Airlines to name just a few.
Interest in the show has come from more than just exhibition sales with Deloitte LLP and Volga Dnepr recently confirming sponsorship of the new Aerospace 4.0 feature and Cargo Village respectively. Furthermore China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASIC) – another first for the show - will also be participating in the Space Zone at Farnborough alongside Roscosmos, ESA and UK Space Agency.
Farnborough International Commercial Director, Amanda Stainer commented saying, “FIA18 looks set to be our biggest yet. There is strong demand for international trade and cooperation and FIA is where the aerospace industry is choosing to do it. We are looking forward to the next few months as our exhibitors confirm their plans for the show.”
New exhibitors and sponsors sit alongside a number of new features planned for FIA18 including an Aerospace 4.0 feature area, spotlight exhibitors and an Interactive Product Showcase delivering an immersive experience. With confirmed participation from LPV, Arcam (GE), Frazer Nash Manufacturing and SAP amongst others, it is anticipated that Aerospace 4.0 will be a popular feature at the show.
The organisers are working with Crisis Cast to develop the Interactive Product Showcase which will comprise a live, dramatised immersive scenario that will allow exhibitors to showcase their products. Currently under development, but likely to focus on security, it is expected the feature will provide real value for exhibitors and visitors alike.
Already popular features such as the Meet the Buyer Programme, Space and Innovation Zones and the Delegation programme will all be returning to the show. In 2018, the Meet the Buyer programme and Space Zone will take place in the new Hall 1 at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre. Currently under construction and due for completion in early 2018, the new development is a major step forward in the history of Farnborough.
Farnborough International Airshow is exhibiting at the Dubai Airshow, Stand 856B.
