Farnborough International Develops Central European Connections

Head of Sales & Sponsorship, Simon Ford and International Business Development Manager, Joe Muir paid a flying visit to central Europe last week where they met with SARIO, the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency and two potential exhibitors for the 2018 show.

“It was a really productive trip”, said Joe Muir. “With our focus for 2018 to be to increase international participation at the show, it was good to meet with SARIO face-to-face and discuss how we can support SME businesses in Slovakia at the Farnborough International Airshow.”

The pair also visited the headquarters of Aeromobil, makers of the flying car. The Aeromobil 3.0 prototype is currently in its test programme and the company hopes to bring it into to full production soon. Joe and Simon toured the facility and had a productive meeting with the team. “I’m quite excited about the idea of seeing the Aeromobil flying car at the Airshow in 2018.” said Joe.

From Slovakia, the team also stepped over the border to the Czech Republic where they met Airshow regulars, Aero Vodochody who helped us organise a Czech Pavilion at the 2016 Airshow. “We had an extremely informative visit”, said Simon Ford, “We learned all about Aero Vodochody’s long history, had a tour of the factory and gained a huge insight into the company’s relationships with other major aerospace businesses including Embraer and Sikorsky.” Discussions went well regarding their plans for FIA2018 and Joe will continue to work with them to see Aero Vodochody and a Czech Pavilion at the show.
