Air Cargo Bought To Life With IATA At The Farnborough International Airshow

Organisers of this July’s Farnborough International Airshow are bringing the cargo industry to life with a dedicated Cargo Village and, for the first time, a conference programme which is officially supported by IATA.

The Cargo Village - sponsored by Volga Dnepr and Cargo Logic Air – is an important part of this year’s airshow representing major growth in demand, matched by increased requirement for innovation in cargo aircraft.

The new two-day conference will feature a range of speakers, panellists and industry thought-leaders; with a programme curated by IATA who, as the leading association for the global air cargo industry, can ensure the right focus on trends, innovations and challenges facing the industry.

Amanda Stainer, Commercial Director of Farnborough International says: “There’s no question that exhibitors at this year’s show will be looking beyond Brexit to build a more international customer base, and that will lead to increased reliance on air cargo.

“Our partnership with IATA ensures delegates attending the Farnborough International Airshow gain the best possible insight into this strategically important industry.”

Glyn Hughes, Global Head of Air Cargo for IATA says: “The Farnborough International Airshow is an important opportunity to focus on air cargo; it is fundamental to successful trade which means the industry makes a valuable contribution to the global economy.

“I am delighted that IATA is shaping a conference programme which ensures the right speakers and panellists are having insightful discussions about this fast-growing and highly innovative industry.”

The Cargo Village provides a rare opportunity for delegates to view and explore these specialist aircraft. A number of aircraft are to form part of the static display, and there will be live demonstrations.
