H1: MBDA AT FIA 2026: THE SOLE EUROPEAN PLAYER COVERING ALL LAYERS OF AIR DEFENCE

MBDA is taking part in the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2026, the UK’s flagship event for the aerospace, aviation and defence industries which takes place from 20 to 24 July. True to its commitment to be “behind every safe place”, MBDA is showcasing its comprehensive portfolio of sovereign defence solutions; demonstrating how it  provides armed forces from our home nations and their allies with military capabilities to protect critical infrastructure, assets and citizens against today's and tomorrow's aerial threats.

As the sole European player offering a complete range of sovereign complex weapon systems covering every layer of air defence, MBDA continues to combine proven operational capabilities with innovation, helping nations to strengthen their strategic autonomy.

H2: FROM GROUND TO SPACE: PROTECTING ARMED FORCES AND CITIZENS IN ALL CONDITIONS

Operating as a trusted part of the defence community, MBDA provides armed forces from our home nations and their allies with decisive military capabilities, to protect national security from the full spectrum of aerial threats and enable strategic independence.

FIA’s 2026 edition is organised around three major pillars: Propelling Defence; Advancing Aerospace and Pioneering Space. Together, these themes reflect MBDA's ambition to deliver innovative capabilities that protect national security and contribute to long-term sovereignty.

MBDA's booths (Chalet E032 and Hall 1 - stand 1230) will highlight a portfolio of complementary systems designed to provide layered protection against ever-evolving threats. Among them will notably be SKY WARDEN, MBDA's integrated Counter-Uncrewed Aerial System. Combining advanced sensors, command and control, and a range of effectors, SKY WARDEN provides a scalable solution capable of detecting, identifying and neutralising increasingly sophisticated drone threats.

Looking further ahead, MBDA is also developing the SPLINTER satellite, demonstrating how the Group is expanding its expertise into the space domain. This dual initiative led by U-SPACE and MBDA aims to experiment reactive military intervention in Low Earth Orbit. Its goal is to demonstrate engagement and proximity manoeuvring techniques in orbit, while enabling experimentation and maturation of technological blocks required to build in-orbit action capability.

Together, these capabilities demonstrate MBDA's unique ability to pioneer defence, while delivering an integrated, sovereign approach to air defence, from the lowest to the highest layers of the battlespace.

H2: DRIVING INNOVATION TO MEET TOMORROW'S CHALLENGES

MBDA is future-ready, leveraging its expertise in combat-proven systems to anticipate and respond to emerging threats by creating future innovative solutions. Thanks to its complete portfolio, MBDA ensures nations maintain credible and enduring power, built on technical discipline and long-standing expertise, from solution design to in-service support.

By capitalising on decades of operational experience and continuous investment in research and development, MBDA is creating the next generation of capabilities that will enable armed forces to maintain their operational advantage.

These developments reinforce its ambition to remain both battle-ready and future-ready: delivering combat-proven solutions today while preparing the technologies that will shape tomorrow's defence capabilities, including among other innovative solutions weaponising uncrewed systems, integrated air and missile defence and future weapons capabilities.

At the same time, MBDA continues to strengthen pan-European cooperation, bringing together governments, armed forces and industrial partners through multiple programmes to deliver sovereign capabilities while supporting innovation, skilled employment and long-term economic growth across Europe.

H2: SUPPORTING NATIONS THROUGH INDUSTRIAL ACCELERATION

As defence requirements keep evolving, MBDA is accelerating its industrial transformation to ensure armed forces have access to the capabilities they need. By combining technological excellence with increased industrial capacity, the Group is reinforcing its role as a trusted partner to its home nations and allies, while contributing to the resilience of Europe's defence industrial base.

To meet a growing demand, MBDA has launched an ambitious industrial ramp-up programme focused on expanding production capacity, strengthening its supply chain and securing the long-term delivery of sovereign defence capabilities. This transformation is already delivering concrete results. Missile production doubled between 2023 and 2025 and is expected to increase by a further 40% on average in 2026. At the same time, MBDA continues to invest significantly across its manufacturing facilities and supplier network to support sustained, large-scale production while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.

The Group is also strengthening its industrial footprint through the expansion of its production sites, strategic acquisitions such as Roxel, and the development of new manufacturing capabilities, ensuring greater resilience across its European value chain.

Building on this momentum, MBDA is entering a new phase of industrial growth. During the Group's 2026 Annual Press Conference, CEO Éric Béranger announced an unprecedented investment plan of more than €5 billion between 2026 and 2030, doubling the previous programme. This long-term commitment will further enhance production capacity, accelerate innovation and strengthen the industrial capabilities required to meet the evolving needs of customers across Europe and beyond.

At Farnborough 2026, MBDA will demonstrate how this industrial transformation is enabling the next generation of integrated air defence. From combat-proven missile systems and advanced counter-drone capabilities to pioneering technologies extending into the space domain, the Group continues to translate innovation into operational advantage, helping to shape the future of sovereign defence.

Come meet the teams at the Chalet (E032) and at the corporate stand (Hall 1, stand 1230), We’re looking forward to seeing you.
