With over 25 years at the heart of UK defence, Mark Langmead is a proven leader in delivering complex capability, shaping policy and championing SMEs. He spent two decades in major defence primes, playing key roles in bringing some of the UK’s most important platforms into service, including Type 45 destroyers, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers.

As Vice Chair of the Defence SME Committee (DMSEC), Mark is a prominent national advocate for the defence SME community, providing a direct voice into government on industrial strategy, procurement reform and SME finance. Through Matrix Pro Services, a specialist in digital synthetic wargaming, he helps defence organisations think, decide and deliver more effectively through high-fidelity modelling, simulation, decision-support analysis, training and education.

Jez Holmes OBE

Jez Holmes OBE is a senior innovation and strategic leader with a strong track record in delivering major national defence programmes and supporting technology companies. As architect of the UK’s Future Combat Air System Technology portfolio and Team Tempest, he helped secure multi-billion-pound government and industry investment and led more than 100 advanced technology projects across a £3 billion portfolio. A founder member and former Head of the RAF Rapid Capabilities Office, he built the organisation into a benchmark for rapid acquisition and experimentation. He now focuses on supporting technology SMEs through Raven Innovation Ltd and developing integrated technology capabilities through Pharazon’s system integration methodology.

Nichola Quinn

Nichola Quinn is a seasoned venture investor and startup operator with deep experience across early-stage entrepreneurship and corporate innovation. Formerly Boeing’s leading venture investor outside the United States, she backed startups in 14 countries and led global innovation programmes supporting defence and commercial customers. With expertise in international business development, capital raising and go-to-market strategy, she connects startups, corporates and governments to help breakthrough technologies scale across aerospace, defence, oil and gas, maritime and other complex industries.

Eva Strang

Chief of Staff, XeleratedFifty

Eva Strang supports early-stage companies by building strategic partnerships and fostering connections across governments, corporates and industry. As Chief of Staff at XeleratedFifty, she helps drive innovation through collaboration, enabling startups to scale while advancing the adoption of breakthrough technologies in complex sectors. Previously, she worked as a Strategy Analyst within Boeing’s Ventures and Innovation team, where she focused on identifying and supporting investments in emerging technologies and scouting promising seed to Series A startups.

Gerald Law

Founder, Innovation DB

Gerald Law brings a background spanning academia, management consultancy and startup leadership. A London Business School alumnus with a doctorate from Oxford University, he has supported several startups through growth and exit, built executive boards and served on venture capital investment committees. He is also a recognised speaker at events across Europe.

In 2010, he founded Innovation DB to help businesses access actionable academic research. The organisation has developed a system that identifies, captures and describes emerging technologies from more than 20,000 academic institutions worldwide, creating a distinctive dataset of research with real-world applications.
