Session Synopsis:

This session, hosted by Dr David Parker, ESA Director of Human and Robotic Exploration, will cover the new ESA Human and Exploration programme ‘Terrae Novae’ and the opportunities it presents for the UK Industry. UK industry has received €245M in contracts during the initial phases of the Human and Robotic Exploration programme and UK industrial opportunities for the next three years could be even greater pending the ESA Council of Ministers in November 2022. UK industry opportunities could include leading roles in the first Martian complete life search Rover ‘Rosalind Franklin’, flying astronauts to the Moon in the joint ESA-NASA Artemis missions, building the first Moon research station: I-HAB and ESPRIT for the Lunar Gateway and Moon infrastructure communications with Moonlight, and participate to the development of the European ride to the Moon: Argonaut (EL3) and other opportunities concerning ISS and astronauts, which will be presented for the first time to the UK industry at the occasion of the Farnborough Air Show.
